The Challenge
Fi and Rob live in the Northern Gold Coast area. Both work full-time, with Rob often away for extended periods. This left them with little time to search for the right property themselves. They were looking for a waterfront home in Broadbeach Waters – an area they weren’t overly familiar with – where they could retire in the future but rent out in the short term. They were looking for help to identify a good quality waterfront property, what price they should be paying, and where they may need to compromise to stay within budget.
The Brief
Fi and Rob were after a low-maintenance waterfront home with close proximity to the main river for boating access. The home needed to be in good condition for immediate rental but also have renovation or rebuild potential for the future, as they’re experienced renovators. Their budget was non-negotiable for them to retain their current residence for the next five years. They were realistic about having to compromise on features like water view depth, existing pontoons, or property orientation to stay within budget.
The Outcome
We secured a property in the heart of Broadbeach Waters that ticked all the boxes. It’s a wide block with excellent access to the main river and within walking distance of Pacific Fair and the beach – another item on their dream wish list. The home is in great condition, came fully furnished (ideal for immediate tenancy), and has solid bones for a future renovation or rebuild. We represented Fi and Rob at auction and, drawing on our in-depth knowledge of the Broadbeach waterfront market, developed a tight pricing guide and clear auction strategy. As a result, we successfully secured the property for them on the day.
